Balich Wonder Studio (BWS) from Milan is a world-renowned entertainment group known for its spectacular live experiences. At the Riyadh Season Parade in Saudi Arabia, BWS presents impressive parade floats, some of which are ridden by artists.

To ensure a smooth and, above all, safe performance, the castors used must be able to withstand the highest demands. It is important to ensure a high load capacity, as the floats have a total weight of 20 to 28 tonnes. The castors also need to be durable, resistant and extremely resilient in order to withstand the high safety requirements even after intensive use.

Blickle supplied the ideal heavy duty solution with the LSD-GST and BSD-GST castors: the welded steel heavy duty twin wheel castors with Blickle Softhane® tread. This combination offered the perfect balance between load capacity and floor surface preservation. The bracket of the LSD/BSD series is characterised by a particularly robust welded steel construction. Axial grooved ball bearings and tapered roller bearings in the swivel head of the swivel castors as well as a dust and splash-proof design ensure high resistance. The GST series wheel consists of a high-quality Blickle Softhane polyurethane-elastomer tread, with a robust grey cast iron wheel centre and integrated lubrication, ensuring high load capacity with low rolling resistance. In addition, Blickle directional locks for heavy duty swivel castors have been integrated to ensure safe positioning of the trolleys.

The Blickle castors were installed on the front axle of the parade wagons, while BWS designed its own triple castor platforms to allow more clearance compensation for uneven ground. The special arrangement of the castors enables even load distribution and increased tipping safety, even on uneven ground. Despite an operational performance of 40 kilometres on asphalt and speeds between 4 and 10 km/h, there was no significant wear. These outstanding properties ensure not only a smooth, but above all a safe performance without technical complications. Thanks to the durable and high-quality castors, the artists can concentrate fully on their performance and the audience can enjoy the spectacular show.
