Castors with dead man’s brake and drum brake

Dead man’s brakes and drum brakes are based on the principle of drum brake castors. A dead man’s brake uses an integrated spring for braking when the brake is not activated. A hexagonal rod is used to activate the brake when used with swivel castors. A lever arm or cable pull is used in conjunction with a fixed castor. Drum brakes are controlled in the same way. The closed bracket design makes the brake shoes largely resistant to corrosion and dirt. This ensures that wet conditions have no impact on braking performance.

Both versions are available with the GEV, GST and GTH wheel series.
